The year is coming to an end..

Towards the end of the year.

Towards the end of the year, most people focus on the major holidays. What a time to be alive! During this time of the season, we all gather for many reasons.; whether it's NFL or NBA parties, halloween parties, fall festivals, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and lastly we love celebrating the New Year!

The season drifts upon us quickly, in which we do not prepare for the many upcoming festivities. However, I am here to discuss 5 ways to be more prepared during this season.

The beginning of the season is often spent getting the kids ready to go back to school. After 2 weeks of hyping the kids up for school, we are tired and overwhelmed. Next, the weather is changing, common colds are among us and before you know it, it's party time.

The first way to prepare yourself is to give yourself time to think and be mindful of the many events this season has to offer. We are often gathering with friends and family to create great memories. We participate in community events. We give and receive many things during this time, so as we transition into the fall/winter season let's be mindful of what our community has to offer and how can we be at service. Secondly, purging!! Get rid of anything that is useless!! The old saying is what maybe trash to you is treasure to someone else. Purging will open up space for things that are useful and for you to be creative such as: moving furniture around to obtain a new look for your home, donating clothes/shoes to someone in need, participating in the neighborhood yard sale, or taking a trip down memory lane by diving in those boxes or containers that has been collecting dusk. Either way purging is not just for the new year, it's required for each season. Thirdly, write down all the festivities that you and your family will participate in, and say no to the festivities that isn't on the list. Many times there will be a few festivities that will pop up and get you off your routine, but always remember our goal is to decompress. Fourthly, create a theme for each festivities that you will be hosting. Do not host each and every event. Why, you ask? It will allow you to relax, have fun, get away from home, and to learn different ways your family and friends entertain. However, creating a theme will keep you motivated and focused. One of the rules of organization is to focus on one thing at a time! And lastly, enjoy the process.

As the year come to an end I encourage each and every one of you to purge the past, enjoy the present time, and prepare for the future. I will always be here to assist in anyway I can. Thank you for choosing me to be your organizer. Later!
